Hey Guys,
The tires that I have on my Giant Escape have about 2500 miles on them and have gone bald in the rear, and are starting to bulge. These are the tires that came on the bike, and I'm not versed enough in tires to make a good decision on a set of replacements. I'm looking for a tire to do daily commuting about 10-20 miles a day, and be strong enough to do grocery runs pulling a cart, but not feel like tractor tires.
700cc x 28
or
700cc x 32
Thanks Guys.

missing some important info: what is your budget, beaded or folding and how wide of tire will your frame accept?
I am a big fan of 32mm Paselas, they are butter smooth, acceptably flat-resistant and get good wear. Downside, they're ~$50 a tire usually.
Get off the sidewalk and come ride in traffic like a grownup.

The 35 fit more like 33. I've been running them on my commuter. Great tires for the price.

I ended up not being able to wait for the Nomad's to come in the mail, my one bike is my main source of transportation. I went down to my LBS and bought a Vittora Randoneur for my back tire in 700x32m. My ride is much smoother now, I'll switch to the Nomad's later when I'm less lazy or really feel the need for matching tires.

I run T-serve messanger tires on several bikes in 700x25, 700x35, & 26x1.5
They hold up pretty well and have good grip & puncture resistance.
For cheap tires, check out the used bike shops. I once picked up a new 26x2.0 Vredstein for $20 from their used pile. This was te Recycled Cycles in Fre-llard I think.
