Can you identify this bike? (please)

Free pile rescue, possible Colnago?
There is no serial number on this bike.
There are 3-leaf "Colnago?" clovers on the lugs though.
Of course, it's been rattle-caned black.

Did you check the seat tube by the bottom bracket, the chainstays, dropouts, and the headtube for a serial number?

Google tells me that most Colnago lugs have a stem at the base of the lug.

This lug looks similar. Claims the builder was linked to Mercian though.
