FS: Sidi Diablo Gore-tex winter shoes
Posted: Sun Feb 03, 2008 12:47 pmI'm finally admitting that the Sidi Diablos I bought last month are just too big for me. I usually take a 44 for my winter shoes (heavier socks, etc), but this model is built with much more cavernous room than normal and even with my insoles they're still too big; they wear more like a 45s.
I got them on sale and can't return them. They only have 3 rides on them and are totally brand new. They retail for +$320 and I'm asking $200, enough to cover what I paid.
They're made with Gore-Tex lining and extremely warm and waterproof. There is a high neoprene cuff to ward off snow and rain. You can wear a thin wool sock and have your toes be toasty. I know 2 people who commute with them in the winter and consider these shoes totally bombproof. They have a f'n mtb sole and holes at the toe for mud cleats so they'd be great for CX next year too.
One thing to note, these are the f'n mtb model and will NOT fit road cleats. Three of my teammates wanted these shoes, but they use Look or Speedplay road pedals and the bolt patterns are not interchangeable (don't know about the Speedplay Frogs though).
If these don't go with one of you fine peeps, I'm going to put them on Craigslist soon. I can meet up with you if you'd like to try them on and make sure your pedals fly. Email to "jillita - at- geemail - dotcom".
