If I were building up a new set of decent road wheels (130 spaced, that is) for everyday riding, I'd go with 32 spoke 105 hubs (about $100 for the set new, cheaper on ebay, I suspect, ) laced to velocity dyads (generally about $100 for a pair online) with DTSwiss butted spokes ($50 from R&E). If you're not a wide-tire kinda person (that is, you typically run tires less than 32mm), I'd go with velocity fusion rims.

These will cost a little more than aksium wheelset, but they'll be better, I assure you.

I went by Bike Sport last night and their counter to the Dyads was that they'd be heavy once built up. Not sure about that...

Anyway, they're talking about doing a build on a Mavic rim (not sure which). Not sure about the hubs yet. They are going to try and do the build within or close to the cost that KPP is going to be covering, but I told them anything $100 over or less would be fine, and I could afford more but would have to think about it. Supposedly they're going to work on it today and give me a ring.

Right now I'm running 28s, and I think I like that width for commuting. Plus I doubt the OCR frame would take anything bigger.
