Fixed gears are dangerous you hippy.
Better be safe on a geared bike.

That hub is a flip flop hub i.e. one side for fixed, one for free wheel. You can't properly install fixed gearing on the other side. I had the same thing happen to me on a Pista once (imagine that!) and I destroyed the rear hub. I'd like to think that it's because I'm so damn tough, but crap material/build quality was the most likely culprit. Riding fixed gears in urban environments places serious demands on rear hubs, and if there's been slippage, the threads on the hub are most likely damaged. If you're going to need a new hub, consider getting a front dischub and bolting a cog from londonfixiebike.co.uk on. If your gonna be out doing skids and treating a track hub like a scapegoat for W, this is an awesome option. No more threads to worry about, ever.
