here's one option: <a href="http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1982928">interurbanized!</a>
there are a couple climbs there: one up dexter to cross the aurora bridge, one up to the zoo, and then one at the very end iirc. he rest of it is pretty flat, and more or less direct.

I used to ride past Shoreline CC on my way up to Edmonds a bunch. <a href="http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1982943">Great route</a>:
1) Get to Ballard
2) Go north on 8th Ave NW (bike lane) all the way to south end of Carkeek
3) Turn right on NW 100th, behind the QFC
4) Turn left onto 3rd for about 2 blocks
5) Turn right onto 105th
6) Turn left onto 1st Ave NW - great residential street, much better than 3rd
7) When 1st dead ends, turn right onto 130th for a block
8) Turn left onto Greenwood for about a mile
9) Continue left-ish on Greenwood past the golf course rather than continue on the arterial to the right
10) Continue up to SCC
You could take 3rd all the way up to the golf course, but traffic is pretty high and there is no berm, so I preferred going up 1st and then Greenwood.

3rd-ed. 3rd really really really sucks, and even though they painted sharrows, north seattle residents (idiot redneck douchebags) don't care and will try to run you off the road.
