Wondering if any of you have used a couple different brands of interrrupter levers.
I recently bought, and finally now installed, a pair of Specialized ones. Well, I haven't totally installed them; only put 'em on the bars, but haven't touched the cables/housing yet, cuz.. These levers seem really close to the handlebars, or more so than what I remember from the times I've tried them briefly on other bikes (most recently, Derrick's and Adam's). To the point where it seems it'd be hard to quickly get your fingers from bar to lever. I forget what types those were, but I know they at least weren't these; black vs. silver.
From a few pics I've looked at on the interwebz, some seem to have a wider gap, but.. hard to tell this shit from a photo. Talked to a few bike shops' mechanics and heard mixed stories about this.

IMO they do vary in this dimension. Some levers are more prone to bark your knuckles by accident. Mine are , but an older model than this one, I guess. a slightly different shape.

More like these adam?
Yeah Ethan the cross levers usually are placed very close to the clamping area of the bar and the do take up place where lights and computers like to go. It starts looking like a Jr Higher's face with braces and head gear and glasses, ie there is a lot going on upfront.
