Posted: Thu Apr 23, 2009 3:00 pmOkay so we all know cheap department store bikes are crap. But what about tandems? Amazon has several tandems for under $300. If you just want a bike to fool around on with a visiting friend or girlfriend, that doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

Sure you gotta put it together yourself, and I wouldn't take it on a serious tour. But you only need to get a few rides bumping around the 'hood for it to be worth what you paid, eh?
