Tour Route Fix it, repair it, how do I do it, what's the best part to use, and now: how do I get there?

Without looking at the super fine details, it looks like a pretty sweet ride. I've done almost all of that route at some time or another, and I'm jealous.

Minor points:

- there are lots of nice side roads on Whidbey. The highway isn't bad, but maybe look into detouring from it a bit.
- I hope you're spending more time on San Juan Island than just going across and back. The loop around the island is great, enjoy it.
- There's a nice bike trail (the ) from Sidney to Victoria. Looks like you found that, based on your map.
- There's a pretty good bike trail (the ) from Port Angeles to Blyn. Much better than riding on 101 through there.

Last point is to check the ferry prices. WIthin the San Juans, taking a ferry east is free, and west they'll charge. Might see how that works out for Anacortes->SJI->Victoria vs Victoria->SJI->Anacortes.

All the rest looks right. That's going to be a great trip, have fun!

Nice! Thanks for the 101 avoiding trail info, I was kinda dreading that stretch. The route is just the travel part of the ride, I plan to ride around San Juan after dropping off my shit at camp, and I'm spending a day in Victoria to see what's up. Anyone know what the local drunk bike group is called there?

In Victoria as your'e riding south I'd definitely work my way east toward University of Victoria, then take Beach Dr. as far as possible towards the ferry dock. I've done that ride and on a nice day it's very fun, plus there are very nice intermittent sections of bike path along the beach.

After you leave Port angeles stay off the 101 as much as possible, there are much better side roads to take. I'm not even sure bikes are allowed on a section of 101 around Sequim that's controlled-access.

Sweet, I didn't know about the Lochside trail. I think the non-highway side-roads advice is good for that section from sequim to the Hood canal Bridge, too. I haven't ridden those roads, so not sure how nice they are, but it looks like you have options.
