There are several parks around that do not allow bicycles on paths or trails.
But I can't figure out what the actual consequences are. I called the parks dept. and two people couldn't tell me. They didn't even know who to ask.
For an open container it's a fine, but not from the park rangers, that comes from a SPD officer and has to do with the city's open container in public spaces laws.
Anyone here ever been cited for riding in a park?

I've been yelled at by locals in a couple parks for riding trails that were not intended for bikes, but no, no authorities. Most folks wilt in the face of firm criticism, which is probably enough enforcement for the random riders. If you threw 3 races in a row the third would get busted I bet.
Get off the sidewalk and come ride in traffic like a grownup.

Last time I was questioned about riding on a path was by a person whose dog was off leash.

I live up near Morgan junction. I find the best way is to take the trail to Andover and up Yancy. From there you can hop on Avalon, then go up Fontleroy. You could take 35th, but that climb by the stadium sucks. Not sure which side of 35th you are on though.
As for the trails, I think there are three things that determine what happens, 1) destruction of the trail, 2) safety 3) repeatability. If you are going carefully, and not ripping up the trail, I bet you can get away with it longer. But if you get caught a couple of times they might consider it like trespassing. That said, if they don't know the rules, let them figure it out. Try it a few times and see if anyone complains.
I'll get to where I'm gonna end up, and that's alright by me.

I'm like 2 blocks from the Thriftway.
Figuring on homebound going: bike trail over low bridge > delridge > Andover > greenspace trails south > 26th southbound> Brandon west > climb through Camp Long > back streets to the Junction area.
I'd rather not ride on Fauntleroy -at least, driving the last few days and evenings, I know I'm looking out for cyclists and there were times they were still difficult to make out.
Edit: thanks for the suggestions, I will investigate Avalon. Both you and Andre suggested it. and maybe it's better to go up Avalon and cross Fauntleroy there and then head south somewhere btw Fauntleroy and California.
